          WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS
                               and
Their relationship with CBD and THC?

·         Endogenous cannabinoids are neuromodulators that are naturally made by the human body. Sometimes called endogenous ligands, these molecules serve as both upregulators and downregulators of certain biologic processes.

So far, two endogenous cannabinoids that are created naturally in the body have been discovered. One is named anandamide (the Sanskrit word for bliss) and the other is 2AG (2-Arachidonoylglycerol).

Exogenous cannabinoids within the cannabis plant respond and activate our own natural cannabinoid receptors throughout the body.

Currently, hundreds if not thousands of different varieties of cannabis hybrid plants are used for various therapeutic benefits. All varieties of the cannabis plant are one of three main strains: Cannabis sativa, C. indica, and C. ruderalis. Two of these strains, sativa and indica, are the predominant strains that produce the hybrids that are now used in the United States. Each hybrid contains varying percentages of these two strains.

Sativa plant has a higher THC-to-CBD ratio, the higher ratio is significant because the more THC the product contains, the more psychotropic the medication will be. It is beneficial in treating pain, nausea, and anorexia, other reported benefits include alleviation of depression, headaches, including migraines and elevation of mood.

Indica strains generally provide a higher CBD content. It is beneficial in treating pain, muscle spasms, and inflammation, other reported benefits include relief of anxiety, decreased racing thoughts and improvement of sleep.
